What a browser profile does

Dolphin Anty is a browser-profile application. It lets a user keep separate browsing environments and configure a proxy for a particular profile. A profile and a proxy solve different parts of an operational problem: the profile keeps browser state together, while the proxy changes the network route used for requests.

This separation can help a team organize several projects without mixing their working sessions. It does not establish that accounts are anonymous, impossible to associate, or exempt from a website's access rules. A destination can also use account information and activity to recognize a session. Avoid interpreting a different IP address as a guarantee of a different identity.

Prepare the connection details

Before opening the application, obtain the supported proxy protocol, endpoint, port and authentication method from the provider. Keep credentials private. If the provider uses an IP allowlist, check which network address must be authorized. If it uses a username and password, use the current credentials for the intended service.

Choose a profile name that identifies its purpose. Record the intended country or project separately from any observed result: a requested location and the location reported by a particular destination may differ.

Create and configure a profile

Dolphin's current quick-start guide describes creating a profile from Browser Profiles with the Create profile button. Name the profile and enter its proxy details. For an existing profile, open its menu, choose Edit, select New proxies in the proxy field, enter the details, wait for the connection check and save.

Use the format required by the current interface. A port number alone does not identify the protocol. If a check fails, verify the protocol, authentication and endpoint before changing unrelated browser settings. Preserve the error and timestamp so that the provider can investigate a reproducible issue.

Verify before relying on the profile

Launch the saved profile and make a small, controlled browsing check. Verify that the expected route is in use and that the application can reach the intended destination. Record what actually happened rather than describing the setup as a performance test. An application connection check does not guarantee that every destination will accept the same connection.

Keep project profiles clearly named and document any changes to their proxy configuration. When reporting a problem, share the application version, timestamp, error and a sanitized configuration. Do not publish passwords, session data or credential-bearing screenshots.
